I Wish I Could Quit You (4chan, that is)

Oh wait, I already kinda did..
As of writing this, it has been approximately 33 days since I have visited 4chan. Now to someone who doesn’t know me, you might say “Big fucking deal, try quitting heroin and we’ll talk” or something stupid like that, who the fuck knows. Let’s start from the beginning though.
Before I embarked on this journey to “quit 4chan”, as if to say I was quitting a drug, or cigarettes, I had been a “4channer” for quite a long time. Since nearly it’s inception had I lurked it’s boards (mainly /b/, but sometimes venturing into boards unknown), trolled, spouted memes, and even participated in the usual bullshit “raids” on other sites like gaia online and habbo hotel. I was young and stupid, and thought all this shit was funny; looking back, they kinda were.
Getting to the point of the story, 4chan was becoming a distraction, I couldn’t go an entire day without browsing through one of the many imageboards hosted on the site. Months before I had quit, I usually just browsed /v/, the video games oriented board. It became a crutch for boredom. Some people eat when they’re bored, I usually just browsed 4chan. It got to the point that whenever I would try to do something “constructive” like read, code, etc., I would browse 4chan instead, wasting hours of my time. I would even forego some of the little joys in life, like gaming, to browse 4chan endlessly. So I decided to give it up.
This entire ordeal is basically a test of my own willpower, like giving up something for lent, except I’m a little late on the “lent” part and I expect it to be a little more permanent then that. I suppose one could surmise that if I can successfully quit the ‘chan, perhaps I can give up my smoking habit too. Would be nice, eh?
Keep on truckin’.

I think I have the same problem with Twitter. Who knew such a thing could suck up so much of my time? :\
